The Rivers International Film Festival, is a festival that will hold in the Garden City of Nigeria Rivers in Rivers. It will help to rediscover and promote our culture and heritage as a people, then bring together a community of creative leaders from around the world. It will enhance the world's cultural and artistic varieties through films.

Rivers International Film Festival is a yearly festival organized by DESGOL ENTERTAINMENT WORLDWIDE. It intends to discover and promote new and upcoming talents.

Birthed in 2022, we are committed to bringing an educational touch to the festival through movie screening, sciences, exhibitions, tours, skill acquisitions and interactive sessions. Do you have a film that will motivate people in Nigeria, Africa and the world at large. A film that protects our culture and heritage, solves societal and environmental issues. If your response is YES The Rivers International Film Festival (RIFF) is your festival.

We believe that films are powerful tools and medium that can create positive change to the World by empowering young Creatives as we also aim to ignite a new generation of creative leaders and film makers offering our audience a space to meet and exchange ideas around the universal themes and tales, legend and the stories that bring us together. RIFF is aimed at protecting our culture, heritage and people to the world through the entertainment industry. It is aimed at providing environmental, cultural, societal and scientific exhibitions to the adversaries that explores the diversity of our experiences on planet earth.

The following will be RIFF'S criteria for movie selection:
  1. cultural analysis addressing any gender inequality, sexuality, power dynamics, security, racism
  2. Issues of social justice at the national or regional level, such as those relating to immigration, prison system, health care and wage inequality
  3. Stories addressing indigenous and other cultural or racial groups that are usually marginalized extending to those who are disabled, those who are part of diasporas and a variety of other cultures and communities who make up the diversity of human life
  4. Explanation of geographical issues whether or not they are typically associated with environmental issues such as pandemics, over population, energy souces, sex trafficking, famine and war.
  5. Stories that tell the realms of technology, psychology, medicine, and spirituality as it intersects with human beliefs and practices.
